Using distilled white vinegar in your wash can actually keep your colors from bleeding onto your whites! We do recommend that you still wash red items and new denim separate; at least for the first wash. Other than that, adding a half of a cup to a whole cup, depending on the size of your load, to your regular laundry detergent, will efficiently wash your clothing without having to sort them for better cleaning!!!
According to Redbook.com, “Acid in distilled white vinegar is strong enough to break down detergent’s alkalies, making it more effective in cleaning your clothes—yet still mild enough to preserve and soften fabrics. The acid also makes your clothes smell fresher because it cuts through perspiration and residual deodorant. Don’t worry about the vinegar’s odor—it goes away as the clothes dry.”
